II Peter 3:18 tells us, "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." There are, of course, many things that will encourage our spiritual growth. One way is to hear stories of how God has worked in someone's life. If you have had an opportunity to share your faith recently, or if God has provided, protected or prepared you for some special circumstance, we all need to hear about it. Please call the church office so that we can schedule you to share what the Lord has done.

Speaking of growth, I am wondering if any of the regular 11:00 AM attendees would switch to the 8:30 AM Service? This will free up seats in the sanctuary for visitors, as well as spaces in the parking lot. If you are able to walk the distance, would you also consider parking on the street to leave spaces for visitors and people who can't walk far (Warning: A couple of people have parked on the street facing the wrong way and have received tickets). Would you also consider sitting in the front rows for the sake of visitors who may feel more comfortable sitting farther back.

There is one more issue I would like to mention. Our worship time is intended by God to help us grow. God is worthy of receiving our praise. When we come late to worship we miss the opportunity to give our praise, and we may also distract other worshippers. I understand that there are always legitimate reasons why people are detained, but I would like to encourage everyone to aim to be on time in order to maximize your worship experience.

Vacation Bible School 2008

Come join us in the theme park for a day full of choices. The clickety-clack of the wooden roller coaster or the speedy swoosh of tubular steel? The saltiness of freshly popped popcorn or the sweetness of cotton candy? While in the park, you'll enjoy Bible stories, theme park crafts, music, fun snacks, and games!

For those who wish to attend a co-ed class, the Dynamics class is meeting in Room 209. They are studying Charles Stanley's book "Developing Inner Strength."

Did You Know!!

... That we had a Car Wash on June 14th with great success. The Lord blessed us with great weather, as more than 30 workers washed 57 vehicles, while others manned signs and encouraged drivers to "come to the Car Wash!!" In addition, there were many opportunities to speak with "Customers" as they helped themselves to refreshments and literature. We pray that doors were opened and seeds planted.

... That the Sr. High group had a celebration for the graduates at the Wharfside Restaurant in Point Pleasant on Sat. June 28th. After dinner they enjoyed the boardwalk.

... That there were 41 High School students & leaders that went to Six Flags on Saturday June 7th.

... That our young people attended a "Potters Field Ministry" at the Calvary Church in North Plainfield.

... That on Saturday, July 5th, from 11 AM - 3 PM we are hosting a neighborhood fun day to give back to our neighbors and community and to share with them what God has been doing through us for the last 100 years.
