UPDATE: July 30, 2021

In light of the recent rise in COVID cases, the state and federal governments have revised their guidelines. They suggest that we voluntarily wear masks indoors, especially if one has not been vaccinated or has certain health considerations or higher risk.

If you have been vaccinated, consider wearing a mask for the protection of those who might not be vaccinated, have health conditions, or have higher risk.

If you have not been vaccinated, consider wearing a mask for your added protection.

COVID Executive Orders

On May 24, 2021, Governor Murphy issued orders rescinding some of his previous Executive Orders related to the pandemic crisis. This has a positive impact on our church gatherings. As a result, please take note of the following procedural changes at FBCM.

Masks

  • Wearing masks in public spaces will not be required after Friday, May 28.

  • If you have not been vaccinated or if you do not have antibodies due to a previous COVID infection, you may still want to wear your mask during church for your own protection.

  • This will take effect for us on Sunday, May 30.

Social Distancing

  • The Executive Order also rescinds the necessity of keeping a 6-foot social distance and, as of June 4, 2021, there will no longer be numerical limits on indoor gatherings.

  • As a result, starting Sunday, June 6, we will be using all the pews in our sanctuary.

Some Practices Will Remain in Effect

  • We will still check you in, but you will not be assigned specific seats.

  • Please continue to enter through the sanctuary entrance.

  • The gym entrance will be open for people coming to Adult Sunday school and for those who need access to the elevator.

No Children’s Ministry Yet

  • Because children cannot yet be vaccinated, we will not return immediately to Children’s Sunday School at 9:45AM and Junior Church at 11AM.

  • We hope to phase them in during the summer or in September, provided we have the necessary staff.

  • The 4PM Children’s Sunday School on Zoom will continue for now.

No Nursery Yet

  • There will be no nursery, either. We do not yet have adequate staff for the nursery.

  • Once Junior Church resumes, the Cry Room will be reserved only for parents with children two years old and younger during the 11AM Sunday Worship Service.

  • Children from age 3 through grade 5 will need to go to Junior Church.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
