We do not need to fear because of God's grace, the long-awaited Savior is here!
Luke 2:9-11 And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. ”
Christmas seems to come around faster and faster as each year passes. We think of the blessings and the losses and the good and bad news that we heard over the past year.
Nothing is more important than the good news that the angel told the shepherds after Jesus’ birth so long ago– “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10 ESV)
And what is this good news?
We do not need to fear because of God's grace, the long-awaited Savior is here!
Jesus came to earth as a baby, born to Mary, and intersected with human history to die for our sins because “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 ESV)
This is God’s plan and gift to reconcile us sinners to Himself and adopt us into His family. Good news, indeed!
